Psalm 91 in song; a sequence of important Bible verses to store up in your heart, made easier when set to music.
This is a beautiful and comforting passage - Psalm 91:5-7 - that I and my daughters memorized when they were children at home.
Please scroll down the page for the sheet music PDF links.
Psalm 91 in simple English might be preferred by some, but for sheer beauty, nothing can outdo the words of Psalm 91 KJV (King James Version). It is poetry, as well as being scripture.
Though my setting doesn't retain the "-eth" endings on verbs, and substitutes "near" for "nigh," in all other aspects it is almost identical to the original KJV.
With early guitar students, the chords in the key of D are easier, despite the tricky Bm chord. However, using finger 4 is not much fun. Many players will prefer to simply shift to second position.
In the key of C, everything is truly easy except for the F chord, for beginners!
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror of the night,
Nor for the arrow that flies by day.
Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand,
But it shall not come near thee... but it shall not come near thee.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror of the night,
Nor for the arrow that flies by day.
Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

Hi, I'm Dana! (Say that like "Anna".) I'm the owner of Music-for-Music-Teachers.com, and this newer site, SingTheBibleStory.com.
Like some of you, I've been playing the piano since early childhood, and have added a few other instruments along the way, plus an interest in arranging and composing music.
I also happen to love the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Christian worldview that portrays The Great War in the heavens, in which we here on earth are destined to be a part.
