Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is a childhood prayer that many of us said every night before bed. Now it's a song, too!
Teach your children & students to sing it, and perhaps play it on the piano.

Does the phrase "If I should die before I wake, I pray Thee, Lord, my soul to take" frighten you, or comfort you?
If accompanied by explanation each night at bedtime, these words will bring assurance, not fear, to your little ones - and to parents as well.
There are many verses in the Bible showing God's special interest in each one of us, and how He knew us even before we were born!
Psalm 139:13-18, New International Version
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.
To Jeremiah, He said:
Jeremiah 1:5 New International Version
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
For each one of us, He holds out the offer of a relationship with Him forever.
What gives me assurance that the Lord has a place for children who die young, before the "age of accountability" (a state that would vary from child to child, and even culture to culture)?
One story in the Bible in particular gives bereaved parents hope. It is the account of one of the children of David, a baby boy who died in the first days of life, even before the age of circumcision.
2 Samuel 12:22-24 King James Version
22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
David believed that the innocent child was with God - just as he himself would be, after death.

Hi, I'm Dana! (Say that like "Anna".) I'm the owner of Music-for-Music-Teachers.com, and this newer site, SingTheBibleStory.com.
Like some of you, I've been playing the piano since early childhood, and have added a few other instruments along the way, plus an interest in arranging and composing music.
I also happen to love the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Christian worldview that portrays The Great War in the heavens, in which we here on earth are destined to be a part.
